ReSoURCE Consortium Gathers in the UK for M36 Meeting

Three years have passed since the ReSoURCE project began, and with significant milestones achieved, the consortium is convening once again to reflect, plan ahead, and strengthen collaboration. The upcoming M36 meeting will take place next week during the first days of June in the United Kingdom, hosted by our partner CPI.
This meeting will primarily be held in person, with online participation available to ensure broader involvement across the consortium.
The agenda includes updates on project management and presentations from all Work Package leaders, with a strong focus on both current progress and upcoming tasks as we enter the final phase of the project.
A key feature of the meeting will be a guided visit to the Port of Sunderland, where participants will explore its rapidly developing circularity hub. Once a centre of shipbuilding, the port is now repositioning itself as a strategic site for green industrial innovation on the northeast coast of England.
The tour will highlight cutting-edge facilities focused on offshore decommissioning, advanced plastics recycling, and tyre-to-fuel conversion—demonstrating how legacy infrastructure is being reimagined to support circular economy principles. These operations are part of a broader initiative to attract low-carbon industries and support scalable, resource-efficient technologies.
The circularity hub not only showcases practical applications of circular economy innovation but also contributes to regional regeneration and decarbonisation goals. This visit offers a valuable opportunity to witness the convergence of technological advancement, industrial reuse, and environmental ambition in one of the UK’s emerging sustainability clusters.
We look forward to a productive and inspiring gathering as we continue driving ReSoURCE forward.
